Bestiary

Bestiary
Hunt creatures, complete the three stages and earn charm points.
Hunt, unlock, learn
The Bestiary (Cyclopedia › Bestiary in the game client) tracks every creature you kill. Killing a creature reveals its entry; killing more of them unlocks three stages of information and, at the end, charm points that you spend on Charms.
Kill credit
- Every player who damaged the creature receives one kill, at most once per death. It does not matter who dealt the last hit or the most damage.
- Damage dealt by your summons counts for you.
- Party, shared experience and party leader do not change anything.
- Killing summoned creatures (a monster summoned by another monster or by a player) does not count.
- Kills of Star Monsters count as 2, 3 or 4 kills for one, two or three stars.
Stages
| Stage | What you unlock |
|---|---|
| First kill | Name, outfit and difficulty of the creature. |
| Stage 1 | Hit points, speed, armor and the common loot. |
| Stage 2 | Uncommon loot, resistances and locations. |
| Stage 3 (complete) | The full entry, the charm points of the creature and the possibility to attach a charm to it. |
Kills needed
The number of kills depends on how hard and how common the creature is. These are the thresholds in use:
| Difficulty | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| ★★ | 50 - 125 | 400 - 1,000 | 1,000 - 2,500 |
| ★★★ | 50 - 125 | 400 - 1,000 | 1,000 - 2,500 |
| ★ | 10 - 125 | 50 - 1,000 | 150 - 2,500 |
| ★★★★ | 75 - 125 | 600 - 1,000 | 1,500 - 2,500 |
| ★★★★★ | 75 - 125 | 600 - 1,000 | 1,500 - 2,500 |
Charm points are not a flat number per difficulty. Each creature pays according to how long its entry really takes to finish: the kills it asks for, how fast you can kill it and how dangerous it is. Completing a long grind on a weak creature can be worth as much as a short one on a monster that can kill you. The exact value of each creature is shown in the Bestiary inside the game. Bosses, raid creatures and creatures without a regular spawn are not part of the Bestiary.
Star Bestiary
Each creature also has a separate progression for its ★, ★★ and ★★★ versions. Star kills only start counting after the normal Bestiary of that creature is complete. The goals are a percentage of the normal total: creatures with 2,000 or more kills need 20% / 16% / 12% of that total for one, two and three stars; creatures with fewer kills need 15% / 12% / 10% of that total for one, two and three stars. Completing a star progression lets you attach a charm to that star entry; it gives no charm points.
